The Jonas Brothers are preparing to launch their massive World Tour 2009 in Arlington, Texas on June 20 and promised that the trek would be the biggest affair in their career in an interview with Rolling Stone during Dallas rehearsals for the upcoming show. The youngest of the talented brotherly trio, Nick Jonas, told Rolling Stone, "Putting this show together is so much different than anything we've ever done before. We wanted a great way for everyone to have a front-row seat. You might have to come more than once to see it all because you might not catch it all." The Jo Bros' upcoming 44-date North American tour is in support of the trio's latest studio album, A Little Bit Longer (Hollywood Records). A Little Bit Longer debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart last August and, according to Nielsen SoundScan, has sold over 1.49 million copies. The Jonas brothers last hit the road in the summer of 2008, grossing $30.2 million on their 43-show run and attracting over 697,000 screaming fans to their concerts.
Joe, Nick and Kevin recently wrapped up playing a batch of dates in South America, the U.K. and Europe and are clocking some serious hours at the American Airlines Arena, their rehearsal space in their Texas hometown, preparing for the show. Rolling Stone captured the famous siblings singing and trying out new specials effects the show hosts some 350 lighting units and requires no less than 19 trucks to carry the equipment around for the upcoming concert.
It may be hard to imagine a world without the Jonas Brothers, at least if you are a teenage girl, but the New Jersey-bred brothers didn't begin to make their mark on the pop music community until the early 2000s. Disney released the Jonas Brothers' self-titled sophomore effort in August 2007 and the trio soon had their very own reality TV show titled Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream in addition to other Disney appearances and sold-out live shows. The Jonas Brothers' made-for-TV Disney movie Camp Rock garnered 8.9 million viewers, and then the trio released their most recent album, A Little Bit Longer, on the heels of their popular single "Burnin' Up."
