George Strait Tickets - Strait Opens Stadium Craze for Country Music by Brent Warnken

Saturday night was music to the ears of more than 60,000 country music fans in Arlington, Texas, as classic tunes like "Ocean Front Property" and "The Fireman" could be heard ringing throughout the arena at Cowboys Stadium while the King of Country himself performed in what's sure to be one of the biggest country concerts of all time. Saturday evening's George Strait show brought down the house at a stadium performance for the first time of the year, starting a trend of country music artists playing at arena-sized venues in 2009.

While George Strait was the smooth and much-enjoyed buttercream icing on the cake of an action-packed night that also featured music by Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Lee Ann Womack (filling in for an ailing Julianne Hough) the inaugural event at Cowboys Stadium, home of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, helped make the night even more spectacular, starting concert season off right. This newly-instated trend of country music artists playing sold-out gigs at stadiums is one that has the summer of 2009 in a frenzy for many music aficionados, and it doesn't stop with George Strait, the ACM Artist of the Decade.

Kenny Chesney also made for some fierce competition against Strait on the same night, playing a gig at Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, as part of his Sun City Carnival Tour Saturday evening. The Chesney show also featured Sugarland, Montgomery Gentry, Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum on the bill, bringing fans to their feet with classics like "Beer in Mexico" and "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven." Red-hot country music trio Rascal Flatts will also take a number off Strait and Chesney and play two stadium shows on their current Unstoppable Tour, making pit stops in Chicago, IL at Wrigley Field and in Columbus, OH at the Columbus Crew Stadium this summer.

This multitude of country music concerts to be played in gigantic arenas and stadiums across the nation this summer is a significant asset to the music industry, as the weakening economy has made for substantial worry with what's to come with summer concerts. So far, however, country music tickets are selling out like crazy, especially for stadium gigs, and fans are seizing every opportunity to snatch George Strait tickets for this year's lineup of country music concerts and tours across the nation.

The legendary George Strait is now spearheading an attempt at stadium concert takeovers for the country music industry, but before he was known as the King of Country, this bright-eyed, crooked-smiled country and western hero was just another farm boy growing up on a ranch in deep Texas. Strait's youth was full of flip-flopping ambitions, and before making his grand entrance onto the music scene he spent stints in Hawaii with the military and also at Southwest Texas State University of San Marcos. Eventually, Strait started gravitating toward music, striking up the band Ace in the Hole before being discovered by MCA Records. The crooner's first hit single came in 1981 with the smash hit "Unwound," and since then Strait has seen more than 50 No. 1-charting singles, also claiming one Grammy Award (in 2008 for Troubadour) and selling out venues across the nation. Tickets to an upcoming George Strait gig are available now online and like any Strait affair, they're sure to go quickly.
